Poverty is a vicious cycle which passes from one generation to the next. It leads to inadequate schooling and then poorly paid employment. Often times affordable housing is substandard and in areas where crime is rampant. Poverty causes stress and poor health. Children growing up in poverty are at a disadvantage therefore the cycle continues. I think your question to Dr. Payne regarding the key for breaking the cycle of poverty is an important question and one that defiantly needs to be addressed.
